Take Our Kids to Work Day is scheduled for WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2023 This is a program for Grade 9 students across Canada. A short promotional video was produced last spring highlighting the importance of this opportunity: Introducing Take Our Kids to Work Day 2022. If you are interested in taking part in this event for your Grade 9 student, more information can be found at: The Students Commission of Canada A parent permission form must be completed for your child to participate in this program. Please print off the permission form and return to Mrs. Burns by Monday, October 30th. Students were provided a printed copy to bring home. This program is their curriculum on November 1st (NO grade 9 classes at HCC this day). Students do NOT come to school on this day to participate in this program. Bishop McGrattan has called a fast in the Diocese of Calgary to occur Tuesday, October 17th. This is in response to the global request of the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Pierbattista Cardinal Pizzaballa, in addressing the war that has arisen in the Holy Land. The call is for a day of fasting, abstinence, and prayer. HCC students and staff will join together to pray the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary for the intention of peace in the Holy Land. Also, staff and students are invited to fast and abstain from read meat - spiritual practice that Our Lord recommends as powerful for the performance of good works.
